Learn Not To Burn

Learn Not to Burn Educational Request Form.

WHAT IS LEARN NOT TO BURN?

Learn Not To Burn teaches children how to make responsible choices regarding health and safety. This four-volume program teaches children, Kindergarten through Grade 3, fourteen fire safety behaviors over a four-year period. Each lesson includes fire safety information taught in regular classroom subjects such as language arts, math, art, health/safety and science. Included are evaluation forms to test students’ fire safety knowledge before and after the new program has been implemented. The curriculum is intended for use by the classroom teacher in planning classroom activities and can be re-used from year to year.

LEARN NOT TO BURN...PRE-SCHOOL

This program uses original songs, games and activities to teach eight basic fire and burn prevention behaviors to children ages 3-5. The lessons in the pre-school program are short and simple and encourage active participation. The program includes a teachers guide featuring lesson plans, fire safety information, letters to parents and reusable coloring sheets. Each lesson is reinforced with a lively, easy to learn, fire safety song included on a cassette tape.

ALL WE ASK

Your department must show Burns Recovered Support Group a need for financial assistance. Your public education budget should be small or non-existent. BRSG asks that you keep us updated on how the program is working. Of course, we would like you to send us some pictures of the implementation of your program.

WHAT WILL WE DO?

Burns Recovered Support Group will purchase the needed Learn Not To Burn resource books for the schools in your area. Each teacher will have his/her own book.
